In 2023, a high-profile robbery in Paris involving luxury goods was found to be orchestrated by a Chinese influencer known as Kong, who specialized in purchasing Hermès products. Kong and her husband were recently on trial in a Paris court for their involvement in the scheme, which included hiding GPS devices in Hermès bags sent to buyers and then robbing the delivery trucks. This allowed Kong to shift blame onto the delivery company while keeping the bags. Additionally, Kong was implicated in a separate incident where a man was fatally injured during a burglary attempt. Despite her association with criminal groups and suspicious activities, Kong remained untouched due to her husband's cooperation with authorities. The scheme resulted in significant losses for the delivery company.
