Vice Chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC), Liang Wen-Jie, revealed the challenges in investigating the alleged surveillance of a Taiwan political talk show by Chinese journalist Zhao Bo, instructed by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Chinese government. Liang mentioned the difficulty in obtaining evidence as everyone denied involvement, but stressed that the matter will be traced back to possibly find evidence. He also emphasized the restrictions on cooperation between Taiwan and mainland China media due to regulations, and noted that the investigation results will be made public when available, with plans to interview the newly stationed Xinhua News Agency journalists in Taiwan. Liang specified that the MAC's role is limited to administrative investigation and coordination, not national security or judicial matters, highlighting potential investigations by other units for further clarification.
