In mainland China, a retired man who enjoys collecting military magazines accidentally bought 4 military books for 6 RMB (about 25 NTD) at a scrap collection station, only to find out they were classified military secrets. After realizing this, he immediately reported the find to national security agencies. It was confirmed that the documents were indeed classified. Investigations revealed that two military personnel, Guo and Li, sold over 200 classified documents weighing over 30 kg as scrap, making a profit of just over 20 yuan. Authorities have since tightened security measures and addressed the loophole in handling classified materials under the State Secrets Law and Anti-Espionage Law of the People's Republic of China.
