On June 9th, the Northern Division of the Coast Guard Administration discovered a suspicious target at the mouth of the Tamsui River, where a Chinese man suspected to have boarded a mother ship and drove a speedboat towards the Tamsui River Dam. The Coast Guard monitored and then arrested him at the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, detaining the boat. The case has been handed over to prosecutors for investigation. Further details are pending. This incident is part of a series involving ongoing disputes between Chinese fishing vessels and Taiwanese authorities.
