Meanwhile, the Chinese military's recent activities have garnered attention, with the Coast Guard Administration confirming a Chinese nuclear submarine sighting near Jinshaxia Channel. With tensions in the Taiwan Strait rising and the upcoming Han Kuang military exercises, Taiwan's arms procurement from the US is seen as crucial for regional stability, to which President Tsai Ing-wen and Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng stressed the importance of defense authorization laws and asymmetric warfare capabilities. This marks the 15th arms sale to Taiwan by the US, highlighting their commitment to Taiwan's security under the Taiwan Relations Act and Six Assurances.
