A mainland Chinese man, a retired lieutenant commander from the People's Liberation Army, was arrested by Taiwanese coast guard after driving a speedboat into Tamsui River on June 9th. The incident raised suspicions about the coast guard's law enforcement process, with 10 individuals facing disciplinary action.
