Affected by the rise of Chinese domestic brands, luxury German automakers like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi have significantly lowered prices to increase sales. Now, Porsche in China has also succumbed to the pressure, offering a 23% discount on its popular Macan SUV, reducing the price by approximately 590,000 New Taiwan Dollars. Porsche entered the Chinese market in 2001 and enjoyed immense popularity, becoming their largest single market globally in 2015. However, sales have been declining since 2022, with a 40% decrease in sales from January to May this year. To counter this, Chinese Porsche dealerships are offering substantial discounts on models like the Macan and Taycan to boost sales.
