Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in New Zealand on June 13, 2024, to hold talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Luxon, aiming to deepen cooperation in various fields and upgrade the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. They agreed to initiate negotiations on the service trade negative list. During the visit, they signed bilateral cooperation documents in areas such as service trade, business environment, agriculture, food products, technology, and wildlife protection, addressing sensitive issues like foreign interference, South China Sea situation, and human rights concerns, emphasizing that differences shouldn't hinder cooperation. Li Keqiang will also visit Australia after New Zealand, marking the first visit by a Chinese Premier in seven years.
