Reported about 1 year ago

According to Taiwan ADIZ team, a Chinese ocean research vessel 'Jia Geng Hao' entered Taiwan's eastern waters on July 7, approaching 24 nautical miles from Taiwan and about 20 nautical miles from Yilan Wushibi. The coast guard confirmed the incident and stated that the Taitung ship monitored and broadcasted the vessel to leave. This comes after continuous harassment of Taiwanese fishing boats by Chinese coast guard ships, including the seizure of a fishing boat near Penghu on July 2. Minister of Ocean Affairs Lin Bi-ling reiterated strong protection for fishermen at a ship launching ceremony in Taitung amidst recent provocations.
