The 35th Golden Melody Awards ceremony is set to take place tonight at the Taipei Arena. Chinese singers Qiu De and Xu Jun, who were both nominated for Best Mandarin Male Singer, will not be attending. Qiu De had to return to China for medical reasons after feeling unwell upon arrival in Taiwan, while Xu Jun had last-minute work commitments preventing him from being present. The entire team of 8 individuals left before the ceremony began. A total of 26 Chinese nominees and their teams were approved to participate, but some had to cancel due to personal work schedules.
