Under new rules, 42-year-old table tennis legend Chuang Chih-Yuan missed the chance to compete in the Olympic singles event for the 6th consecutive time, dropping to 38th in the world rankings and losing out to his 19-year-old student Kao Chen-Jui. However, Chuang can still participate in the team event. With the Paris 2024 Olympics approaching, the Chinese Taipei table tennis team has finalized its roster, with Lin Yun-Ju, Kao Chen-Jui, and Chuang Chih-Yuan representing the men's team, and Cheng I-Ching, Chen Ting-Ju, and Chen Szu-Yu forming the women's team.
