Chunghwa Telecom announces a price reduction for 1G and 2G super high-speed broadband internet services starting from July 1. They introduce a new non-fixed 1G/1G symmetric home broadband plan with a promotional total monthly fee of 1,299 yuan, cheaper than the existing 1G/600M plan. The company, with about 68% market share, aims to increase the adoption of speeds above 300Mbps. In addition, Chunghwa Telecom will implement speed limits for exceeding daily data usage for personal and commercial broadband users utilizing 1G symmetric and 2G/1G rates, marking the first-ever speed limitation for broadband users in Taiwan.
