Chunghwa Telecom held its 'Chunghwa Telecom 28th Anniversary Outstanding Employees Commendation Conference' where rumors of their plans to introduce Google branded phones were discussed. Chairman Guo Shui-yi stated in an interview that they do not exclude collaboration with any manufacturer and that the key is to provide customers with the services they need. It is speculated that Chunghwa Telecom will start selling Google phones in the third quarter, ending Taiwan Mobile's exclusive sales rights for five years. This move is expected to significantly boost Google phone sales in Taiwan under the support of the two major telecom companies.
