Citigroup and Bank of America announced their exit from the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, following departures from Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs. Despite having previously pursued net-zero standards to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, these banks are scaling back initiatives due to concerns over backlash from Republican policymakers against limitations on fossil fuel financing. Each bank stated they will continue to engage with clients on the issue while aiming to achieve their individual net-zero goals.
