HBO's upcoming original series "City of God: The Fight Rages On," serving as a sequel to the acclaimed 2002 Brazilian movie "City of God," is set to debut in August on Max and HBO. The six-episode series, based on author Paulo Lins' literary work, follows the characters from the original film in the early 2000s, incorporating flashbacks. Returning cast members include Alexandre Rodrigues and Thiago Martins, alongside new faces from Rio de Janeiro communities. Produced by Andrea Barata Ribeiro and Fernando Meirelle, the series is helmed by a creative team of writers and directors.
