Chung Ying-Ti on July 2, 2024, 2:35 AM reports that Chunghwa Telecom responded to a 'equipment room failure,' causing city phones to be unreachable. Residents in some areas of Changhua, Nantou, and Yunlin were unable to make calls, including to 110 and 119 for emergencies. The issue was due to a brief glitch during equipment replacement, resolved by 1:10 AM. Fault mainly affected the mentioned areas, with emergency systems gradually returning to normalcy later. Telecom stated that services fully resumed by 1:10 AM, and cooperation with authorities continues to prevent such incidents in the future.
