The Tall Ships Races featuring 50 classic sailing vessels from 13 countries has commenced in the Baltic Sea, drawing attention to the deteriorating environmental conditions, such as eutrophication. The race, emphasizing the urgent need to protect the Baltic Sea's marine environment, is organized by Sail Training International and includes ships over a century old. While educating global crews on sailing dynamics, the race route includes six Baltic Sea ports, and notably, Russian vessels are excluded due to geopolitical reasons. The race concludes in early August in Szczecin, Poland.
