A terrifying accident occurred at the level crossing in Jhuci, Chiayi on June 13th morning around 9:00 am, where an elderly man on a motorcycle crashed through the level crossing, hitting the barrier pole and falling onto the railway tracks. Fortunately, the Alishan Forest Railway train was able to stop in time, avoiding casualties. The incident, which occurred in heavy rain, is still under investigation by the authorities to determine the cause. The man involved in the accident refused medical assistance despite the close call. The train delay caused inconvenience to 156 passengers, with the elderly rider facing penalties for violating traffic laws.
