In July 2024, an inspector at a Coast Guard unit found out that his wife was having an affair with a subordinate who was a captain in the same unit and sued for compensation of 500,000 NTD. Despite the subordinate's denial of any intimate involvement, the court ruled that he must compensate the inspector 380,000 NTD for violating spousal rights. The wife admitted to having sex with the subordinate, claiming 'since my husband is cheating, the body is no longer important,' leading to the ruling against the subordinate. The court upheld the decision after an appeal, stating that his repentance letter was genuine.
