On June 10, 2024, at 4:19 am, the Coast Guard reported that the Third Patrol Zone Command in Sandun Radar spotted a suspicious vessel about 6 nautical miles off the coast of Tamsui yesterday (9) at around 9 am. They immediately notified the Eighth Coast Guard Team of the North Region to enhance monitoring and response at Tamsui Second Fishing Port and Bali Customs Inspection Station. The vessel was later identified as 'Hong 0', with a Chinese male driver who was arrested and detained for further investigation by the authorities for violating cross-strait relations regulations and immigration laws. The Coast Guard urges the public to report any illegal activities at sea by dialing '118' for immediate response.
