Coca-Cola and Starbucks Apply for Trademark Registration in Russia; Europe Imports More Natural Gas from Russia than the U.S. in May

Reported 8 months ago

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and subsequent Western sanctions, Western enterprises, including Coca-Cola and Starbucks, have quietly applied for trademark re-registration in Russia, signaling a potential return to the Russian market. Additionally, in May of this year, Europe imported more natural gas from Russia than from the U.S., marking a rare occurrence in the past two years as Europe strives to reduce its reliance on Russian oil and gas. The increased imports were due to specific factors, such as disruptions at a major U.S. liquefied natural gas facility and Russia boosting gas shipments through Turkey before a pipeline's maintenance in June.
