Coca-Cola and Starbucks have reapplied to extend their trademarks in Russia to protect their intellectual property rights, following their withdrawal in response to the Ukraine invasion in 2022. Coca-Cola submitted three trademark applications in April, while Starbucks filed eight at the end of May. Both companies emphasized the importance of their intellectual property assets, with Coca-Cola aiming to uphold its trademark rights and Starbucks protecting its brand globally. Since leaving Russia, other Western firms like IKEA have also requested trademark extensions in the country.
