On July 8, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau stated that the hot weather with local afternoon thunderstorms will continue until the 15th; today, due to a cold air low pressure passing over Taiwan, there were strong convections leading to afternoon thunderstorms and hail, mainly in the central and southern regions including Kaohsiung, Chiayi, and Yunlin. Starting tomorrow, as the low pressure dissipates, the rainfall intensity will decrease. Mount Ali National Forest Recreation Area suddenly experienced hail on the 8th for about half an hour. The forecast for high temperatures shows the likelihood of temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius in various areas, with varying weather patterns expected due to changing wind directions in the coming days.
