Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX Corp, is in discussions with NASA to withdraw from the contract to develop new spacesuits for astronauts on the International Space Station. This contract, part of a larger $3.5 billion NASA program awarded to both Collins and Axiom Space in 2022, aimed to create suits for the ISS and future moon missions. Due to delays in development, Collins is considering stepping back from the program, potentially leaving Axiom in charge. NASA has faced challenges with its aging spacesuits, leading to recent astronaut spacewalk cancellations at the ISS.
