Combatting Scams: Douliu Police Visit Local TV Station to Promote Fraud Prevention Techniques

Reported 8 months ago

In efforts to combat evolving scam techniques, the Douliu Police Station in Yunlin County visited the local 'Xin Da TV Station' to give an interview on recent and common scam methods, providing effective prevention measures to safeguard the public's property security and prevent falling into the traps of scam groups. Emphasizing the highest amount of scam losses from 'investment fraud,' Deputy Station Chief Lin Qingfeng advised to be cautious of promises of high profits accompanying high risks, and to avoid trusting vague investment channels or online links. The police also warned about scam groups making initial contact through social media or dating apps, building trust to execute scams, therefore urging the public to remain vigilant when chatting with unfamiliar online contacts. They highlighted the importance of selecting investments with thorough understanding and verifying information, providing the 'one listen, two hang up, three verify' reminder and encouraging any doubts to be reported to the anti-fraud hotline or local police.
