Comcast Corp. has entered into a 50-50 joint venture with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment to build a new arena for the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and NHL's Flyers in South Philadelphia. As part of this agreement, Comcast will acquire a minority stake in the 76ers and will also assist in the efforts to bring a WNBA team to the city. The new arena is expected to open in 2031 and Comcast will hold the naming rights. The deal ensures the team remains in the sports stadium district.
