Compal sees warmer PC shipments this quarter with even better prospects in the second half

Compal Electronics (2324) reported a combined revenue of NT$77.287 billion for May, almost the same as April's NT$77.265 billion, but down by 7.2% compared to the same period last year. Accumulated revenue for the first five months this year was NT$354.123 billion, a decrease of 4.7% year-on-year. Compal projects a single-digit percentage growth in PC shipments in the second quarter, and anticipates better PC shipments in the second half with the introduction of AI PC new products. The company aims to reduce the PC revenue proportion to 60% and increase Non-PC to 40% over the next three years. Moreover, Compal has announced succession planning with former Vice Chairman, Chen Jui-tsung becoming the new Chairman and Anthony Peter Bonadero taking over as the General Manager. Chen Jui-tsung plans to actively develop AI server business through acquisitions and research and development, targeting server revenue to surpass NT$100 billion, achieve a 30% revenue share in AI servers within 5 to 7 years, and position themselves in the top three in the market share and revenue.
