Companies Encourage Retirees to Keep 401(k) with Them

Companies are adjusting retirement plan options in response to concerns about inflation and retirement savings among workers. Employers offer more fixed income and inflation-protected options to address these worries, with plans to keep retirees in their retirement plans post-retirement. While experts suggest considering fees, investment options, access to money, creditor protections, control, and consolidation when deciding whether to leave money in a 401(k) after retirement, surveys show a majority of workers tend to roll over their savings into IRAs within five years of leaving a company.
