Kuomintang lawmaker Chen Hsueh-Sheng recently proposed amending the 'Offshore Islands Construction Act' to allow Chinese capital to participate in major public works on the outlying islands, sparking widespread concerns and criticisms. In response, Kuomintang lawmaker Hsu Chiao-Hsin revealed that many high-ranking military officials in the Ministry of National Defense use car recorders that are 'made in China,' questioning whether the government should start by purging the military if it truly wants to prevent Chinese infiltration. Hsu also suggested that the focus should be more on the specific needs of the outlying islands instead of excessively worrying about infiltration risks.
