FTNN News Network reported on July 7, 2024, that the Internal Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan once again reviewed the amendment to the recall law. Members of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) occupied the chairman's podium early in the morning to block the meeting and even blocked the meeting room to prevent Kuomintang (KMT) legislators from entering, leading to multiple verbal altercations and physical conflicts. Green Party legislator Lin Chu-yin accused Blue Party legislator Wang Hung-wei of injuring her with a punch, while legislators from both parties engaged in pushing and verbal arguments. The DPP legislators took this action in response to the KMT considering amending the recall law to raise the recall threshold. The meeting was disrupted, and tensions escalated as discussions on potential amendments continued.
