The Democratic Republic of Congo, the largest global supplier of cobalt, is contemplating implementing export quotas to address the oversupply of cobalt and revive its falling prices, which are currently at historic lows due to decreased demand from automakers and increased copper production. A temporary ban on all cobalt exports has already been established, with the government planning to discuss quotas during this suspension period to manage market flow after previous voluntary reductions were ignored by mining companies.
