The law firm investigating claims of minerals being smuggled out of Congo through neighboring countries has emphasized the urgency for Apple to provide substantial answers. Apple, on its part, has previously stated that it does not directly procure primary minerals and has conducted audits on its suppliers, with a report from last year indicating that no smelters in their supply chain have financed or benefited armed groups in Congo or neighboring nations.
