Since the start of the UK election campaign, various media outlets have shown that the Conservative Party, which has been in power for 14 years, is likely to face a major setback. Polls published by right-wing paper The Daily Telegraph on the House of Commons' seat projections predict that the opposition left-wing Labour Party could win 516 out of 650 seats, securing an absolute majority. The Conservative Party is expected to see its seats plummet from 365 to 53, with three-quarters of current Cabinet members facing defeat, including Prime Minister Surnak potentially losing her seat. The possibility of Labour winning an overwhelming majority has shifted Conservative Party strategies, with the far-right Reform Party leader Farage also reentering the electoral race, challenging Labour as the main opposition.
