Following the rejection of the government's proposal for parliamentary reform legislation last week, the DPP government has launched a full-scale constitutional battle this week. DPP Legislative Yuan Caucus Convener Ker Chien-Ming unveiled a request for constitutional interpretation, accusing the Blue and White parties of selling out Taiwan to China. The KMT fiercely countered, criticizing Ker Chien-Ming for resorting to smear tactics and rumors and labeled him as a toxic presence in the legislature. The battle for parliamentary reform has entered its third phase this week, with the possibility of multiple parties applying for constitutional interpretation. The KMT accused the DPP of encircling the legislature through constitutional interpretation, while urging the great justices not to act as 'DPP watchdogs.'
