Constitutional Court to Address Provisional Measures for Constitutional Interpretation on 10th, Legislative Yuan to Hold Cross-Party Consultation on Legal Representatives this Friday

The Presidential Office, Executive Yuan, and DPP caucus in the Legislative Yuan have filed for a constitutional interpretation and requested provisional measures regarding the amendment of parliamentary powers legislation. The Constitutional Court will conduct preparations on the 10th, hearing from the applicants and designated agencies including the Legislative Yuan. Legislative Yuan Speaker Han Kuo-yu has issued a notice for a cross-party consultation this Friday (7/5) on appointing legal representatives for the provisional measures. President Lai Ching-te, the Executive Yuan, and 51 DPP legislators have submitted a request for constitutional interpretation and provisional measures related to amendments to the Parliamentary Powers Act and the Penal Code. The Judicial Yuan has segregated the applications and is currently processing them. Additionally, the Legislative Yuan announced a meeting to discuss appointing legal representatives and the Personnel Consent Case of the Control Yuan this Friday. The Constitutional Court is scheduled to begin hearing the case of constitutional interpretation on parliamentary reform on 7/10 regarding provisional measures.
