On June 28, the legislative authority reform officially took effect in Taiwan. Before conducting a general inquiry in the Legislative Yuan, Prime Minister Chu Rong-tai expressed that he was present at the parliament to lead by example. During the questioning, KMT legislator Lai Shyh-bao repeatedly requested Chu Rong-tai not to interrupt, to which Chu Rong-tai frustratedly counterargued, 'You just questioned me.' The discussion included topics such as cross-strait tensions and media intervention issues. Lai criticized the government for alleged 'pseudo-protection' of Taiwan while progressing towards Taiwan independence and asked about future possibilities of escalating to 'red alert.' Chu stated predictions were premature and contingent on China's actions. The exchange reflected differing views on Taiwan's relations with China and internal security measures.
