Continued Heat Alert! Southwesterly Wind Continues to Impact with Highs Soaring to 38 Degrees, Afternoon Thunderstorms Beware

TVBS News on June 30, 2024, at 12:36 PM reports that the southwesterly winds continue to influence Taiwan, leading to ongoing high temperatures today with highs ranging from 33 to 36 degrees Celsius. Except for Hsinchu City and the outlying islands, most areas are prone to temperatures exceeding 36 degrees, especially in the southeast with a chance of localized highs around 38 degrees and heat convection. Thunderstorms are expected in parts of the central and southern regions, Penghu, and Kinmen, with vigilance advised against heatstroke and proper hydration. The forecast also mentions the possibility of heavy rainfall in certain areas alongside strong winds and lightning.
