On July 2, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau continued to issue high-temperature alerts, with Changhua County and Yunlin County under orange alerts for a high probability of 38-degree extreme heat. Various cities and counties are also on orange or yellow alerts, urging people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and prevent heat injuries. Former Meteorological Bureau chief Cheng Mingdian pointed out the malfunctioning of sea breeze regulation as a contributing factor to the unusually hot weather caused by high sea temperatures and weak winds.
