Continuous Rainfall across Taiwan for 2 Days with Sweltering Heat up to 35 Degrees; Showers Expected to Ease Up

On June 23, 2024, Central Weather Bureau forecasted high temperatures exceeding 36 degrees in 18 cities and counties, with a scorching 38 degrees recorded in Yunlin. Showers are anticipated in 13 regions in the afternoon, increasing instability. Meteorologist Huang Jiawei noted that over the next couple of days, Pacific High Pressure will gradually weaken, leading to expanding rain coverage. Temperatures are expected to soar in the north to 35 degrees, while central and southern areas may reach 33-35 degrees. Rainfall is forecasted across Taiwan, with mountainous regions in the north experiencing afternoon thunderstorms. The rain chance will remain high in central and southern areas through the next days, gradually extending the coverage. From Wednesday to Saturday, high pressure will intensify, resulting in clear scorching conditions, although isolated mountain areas should remain vigilant for thunderstorms. Starting from Wednesday, clear hot weather will prevail with reduced afternoon convection.
