In response to discontent over legislative amendments granting more power to blue and white lawmakers, protesters launched the Greenbird Movement around the Legislative Yuan on June 25, 2024. However, the movement attracted controversy as individuals seized the opportunity to rake in money. Complaints revealed that Lilian, the creator of the overseas Greenbird Movement group, recruited controversial figures like drug offenders and Sunflower Movement activist Liu Qiao’an to raise funds and conduct interviews. Lilian was accused of using pole dancing classes to attract payments, while Liu pretended to donate 400 books by Tsai Ing-wen and others to a Boston library, falsely claimed participation in a U.S. federal banquet as a 'Taiwanese fugitive,' and later stirred discord in the overseas Greenbird team. Despite their subsequent withdrawal, they tarnished and divided the overseas Greenbird team. The organizers not only distanced themselves from the controversy but also warned against falling for such scams.
