The issue of whether courtesy seats should be kept has become a discussion focus once again due to recent frequent disputes over 'courtesy seats'. Cultural historian Zhang Zhe-sheng shared the historical background of these seats, which were originally established to commemorate the anniversary of former President Chiang Kai-shek's death. Zhang advocated for every seat to be a courtesy seat, encouraging people to voluntarily give up their seats to those in need. He suggested cancelling the designated courtesy seats and promoting a culture of voluntary courtesy throughout society as a solution to the ongoing controversy.
