Ken Chang, head of the Taiwan Business Affairs Committee of the Citizen Party, caused controversy by calling for 'Both Sides of the Strait Are One Family' at the 16th Cross-Strait Forum in Xiamen on June 15. This led to calls from Citizen Party legislator Chen Chao-zi for party disciplinary action. The party's secretary-general disclosed that they had received complaints and would refer the matter to the Central Review Committee. Chang explained that his participation was in line with party regulations and did not exceed the party's cross-strait policies, clarifying that his statements were not misunderstood by the party.
