The Nationalist Party legislative yuan caucus convened to discuss amendments proposed by Nationalist Party lawmakers Chen Hsueh-sheng and Chen Yu-chen to the Offshore Construction Act, including a clause allowing Chinese companies to participate in major construction projects on outlying islands, which sparked controversy. During the session, the Democratic Progressive Party caucus suggested sending the proposal back to the committee, with no objections from the Nationalist Party caucus. In addition, Nationalist Party legislator Weng Hsiao-ling's proposed amendment to the Constitutional Litigation Act was also sent back to the committee. Nationalist Party legislative yuan caucus leader Fu Kun-chi emphasized the importance of focusing on the constitutional court. Further discussion revolved around the need to establish a clear definition for the total number of grand justices in the Constitutional Litigation Act, to ensure democratic legitimacy in court rulings. Both proposals were sent back to the committee for further review.
