Former legislator Guo Zhengliang recently stated that President Lai Ching-te views China as a 'paper tiger' and predicts that if Beijing does not strike, the Green Camp will sweep the 2026 and 2028 elections; however, Taiwan Beauty Media Chairman Wu Zijia criticized this stance, accusing Guo of having a flawed mindset. Guo responded by acknowledging Lai's gamble and how it contributes to internal political tensions, weakening the opposition and making it difficult for the Nationalist Party to act effectively. Guo maintains his criticism, stating that since Lai Ching-te took office, cross-strait relations have remained tense, with no progress made to ease war anxieties.
