Wuxu Altar in Tainan recently released a poster featuring the 'marriage' of Guan Sheng Emperor (Guan Sheng Emperor) and Ma Zu, causing discontent among many believers. In response to negative comments, Wuxu Altar challenged critics on social media, but was countered by a previous post by the Lukang Tianhou Palace, clarifying that the event was not a real marriage. The incident escalated online, leading to Wuxu Altar temporarily shutting down their Facebook page after receiving intense criticism. Ma Zu temples across Taiwan also clarified that the event was merely a promotional poster and not a sanctioned marriage ceremony, indicating a lack of approval from various temple communities.
