A woman surnamed Lin caused a scene on the Taipei MRT when she refused to give up her priority seat for an elderly woman, leading to a physical altercation with a male passenger who intervened. After apologizing to the man, Lin unexpectedly rammed herself into a pillar, resulting in injuries and medical assistance. This incident is one of 22 disputes related to priority seating out of 427 cases recorded in the MRT system from January to May this year, accounting for 5.1% of all disputes. Authorities urge passengers to follow regulations and cooperate with MRT staff to prevent such conflicts.
