Comedian Tseng Bo-en performed three shows in Taiwan two years ago, labeling them as 'speeches' to avoid paying around 260,000 yuan in taxes. However, authorities reclassified the shows as 'stand-up comedy' due to elements of entertainment for the audience, falling under the entertainment tax category. Tseng Bo-en's company has now responded to the issue, stating they are discussing with lawyers as they have not received the court ruling yet. Despite aiming to introduce a new form of performance, avoiding tax obligations seems challenging for them.
