In Taiwan, Japanese entertainer Feng Tian was scammed out of 100,000 Taiwanese dollars by someone posing as an animal foundation representative claiming a donation setup error, with a female convenience store employee aiding the fraud by scanning fake barcodes 52 times on the cash register, inputting false data, and siphoning 520,000 dollars for the scam group. The employee then sent five financial cards and passcodes to the scammers, who exploited the information to deceive Feng Tian and other victims. Although she claimed financial distress led her to participate, she was sentenced to 4 months of probation for providing the scammers with personal information.
