A convenience store manager surnamed Huang in Neihu District, Taipei, ordered goods worth over 1 million NTD from the head office between August 1 and November 16, 2023, then sold them at a discount to make a profit of over 600,000 NTD due to a gambling debt. Upon discovery of the missing items, the store’s manager reported it to the police. Huang was sentenced to 10 months in prison for embezzlement, with the court confiscating his ill-gotten gains. Huang, with no prior criminal record, was considered to have breached the company's trust and was found guilty of using his position for personal gain.
