The mainland China Immigration Department announced on July 1 that starting from July 10, foreign residents with permanent residency in Hong Kong and Macau will be issued travel documents to facilitate customs clearance. These residents, both mainland Chinese and foreign nationals, can now apply for travel permits to the mainland for purposes such as investment, business negotiations, academic exchanges, and tourism, with the possibility of multiple entries within a 5-year period, each stay not exceeding 90 days. This new policy aims to enhance exchanges between mainland China and Hong Kong/Macau residents and support the long-term prosperity and stability of the special administrative regions.
